Hi! My name is Chrissy and I am the proud owner of New Pride Designs.
A little about myself:
When I was growing up, I had an Aunt who was a lesbian. When I think back to that time I never thought that her and her partner were any different from a hetero couple. I saw that they loved each other and it didn't matter what sex you are, (or how old you are, or what color you are) as long as you love each other. When I was 14 years old my Aunt died of cancer. It was a traumatic event in my young life. She was just like a mother to me and so was her partner. I was devastated.
Over the next few years, I became horribly depressed. I just couldn't accept that she was gone and the family that had been made was split apart.
Struggling through my 20's I just couldn't figure out who I was, or what I wanted. I got a degree in psychology, worked in a group home with people who have mental illnesses, and worked at the Program for Assertive Community Treatment, also helping those with mental illnesses. However, the job was very demanding and very stressful. It was too much for me even though I loved helping people. So I left my job to study something else.
Soon after leaving that job and reapplying to college my back got injured. I could barely walk and sometimes couldn't walk at all. My mind was going crazy while I couldn't get out of bed. (This is where New Pride Designs comes to life)
I needed something to do while I was stuck in bed. My friend Kenny loves the rainbow and so do I. Then came New Pride Designs because I can create from my bed and have someone mail my goods around the world. I can work from my bed! It was brilliant! I am proud of who I am and want to show it to the world!
I have had 2 back surgeries now and finally seem to be healing. God has blessed me with another chance. My stamina is increasing and my body is coming back to life.
Finally I had come out of the closet as bisexual. However, just recently I have come out of the closet more. I didn't even know they had a name for my sexuality. I am abrosexual. My sexuality is fluid just like a genderfluid person's gender changes.
New Pride Designs is dedicated to my loving Aunt Janet Nyblade. R.I.P. 1992
